This Miami Non-Profit Has The Mission To End Illiteracy Around The World
Alfalit International had its 2017 Literacy for All Disco Ball Gala the second weekend of October at the Intercontinental Hotel in Downtown Miami.
Alfalit is a Non-Profit organization dedicated to programs in literacy, basic education, early childhood development/preschool, health and nutrition, job and skills training, and community development to the poorest countries throughout Africa, Latin America, Europe and the United Sates.
The fundraiser’s objective is part of the on-going effort to support Alfalit’s work to end illiteracy around the world.
This year’s live auction included appealing items such as a 5-night trip to Costa Rica, Hamilton Broadway Experience and a 1-hour dance lesson with Dancing with the Stars champion, Maks Chmerkovskiy.
Amongst its attendees was the prestigious real state giant and President/Chairman of Alfalit International, Joseph Milton, who offered to auction a chance to attend a mission trip with him.
The renowned television personality, Raúl González, also attended as the host of the night wearing his best disco-inspired attire.
As proven success of the organization, a special guest narrated her life story proving Alfalit changed her life and made her a better woman by teaching her how to read and write. She stood on a stage and read her, self-written speech, in front of over 100 spectators provoking respect, admiration and a round of applauses.
Milton, as volunteer Chairman, also made the crowd emotional when he dedicated this night to his mother, who according to him was a humanitarian and always helping those in need, way before they were the Milton family of South Florida.
